Fordington Gin Wins Silver at the World Gin Awards

2020 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year for Fordington Gin. On Wednesday 15th January we attended the World Gin Awards in London, where our classic Fordington Gin was awarded a silver medal.

These distinguished awards select the very best gins from around the globe, awarding bronze, silver and gold to entrants from each country for a number of internationally recognised gin styles.

The World Gin Awards are presented by The Drinks Report, an online trade magazine that provides expert advice on marketing and packaging to experts within the alcoholic drinks industry.

Fordington Gin entered the Compound Gin Taste Category against 600 entrants. This category recognises gins where the principal botanical flavours are imparted through maceration rather than distillation.

Taste testing took place at Glaziers Hall in London with over 100 guests in attendance. The judging panel included some of the leading names in the drinks industry, including international journalists, drinks retailers and gin experts.

Fordington Gin founder, Ros Nelmes was delighted to receive news of the prestigious award win. “We attended the World Gin Awards ceremony in London and were overjoyed to learn that Fordington Gin had won a silver medal against 600 other gins”.

“We’ve put our heart and soul into producing Fordington Gin and this award is testament to the hard work we’ve put in. It’s always been our aim to create a gin with distinct flavours and we truly believe we’ve achieved this with Fordington Gin”.

“We’re so pleased that our gin, which is still produced in our Dorset home has received such wonderful praise on a global stage. We can’t wait to share this news with our stockists and the lovely customers we meet at the food and drink festivals we attend”.

“We already think Fordington Gin is one of the best drinks in the world, but now we have the medal to prove it!”
