Today is the first day of Autumn and, despite today's welcome sunshine, the weather has certainly changed. The nights are drawing in and we are craving open fires, warm blankets and home comforts to get us in the seasonal spirit!
The early crops of apples and blackberries have ensured a fabulous fresh batch of delights for our autumnal treat - our Apple and Blackberry Gin. Made with fresh, local apples (often from our own trees) and perfectly fragrant and juicy blackberries, we think this beautifully blended gin is a gem.
It is perfect in our cocktail of the month...
The Fordington Bramble Fizz...
Fill a cocktail shaker (or a large jam jar will do) with a handful of ice. Pour over 50ml Fordington Apple and Blackberry, 25ml Sugar Syrup and 25ml fresh lemon juice, put the lid on and shake well. Pour into your favourite highball class and top up with your choice of tonic or soda. Garnish with a few fresh blackberries and some mint leaves. Simple but delicious!
